FLINTOFF OPENS DEBATE

Right before the start of the first test between England and South Africa, Former England all rounder Andrew Flintoff has started a new debate by saying that even England’s second bunch of players would be better than the South African squad.

The big man told Sky Sports that England has got a great side and even the reserved England players are capable enough to give the South African team a run for their money. Freddie said that he didn’t watch England Vs West Indies matches because he knew they would be one-sided which they actually happened to be.

According to Flintoff, South Africa is a good team with the likes of Jacques Kallis, Graeme Smith and Dale Steyn. But, South Africa is a team which would be at its best when you give them a chance to dominate you from the outset. But, England has got good enough players to stop South Africa from dominating them in the beginning.

However, Flintoff has a different opinion about the one day team. He said that the test side is quite settled and every member has a definite role in the test side. On the other hand, the one day side is not that settled. He said that the test side has been performing well over the years but the one day side has never performed up to the expectation. The players who have been trusted by the England Team Management to do the job in one day cricket have failed.

He included even himself in that list. So, he reckons that Alistair Cook has a much harder job to do as compared to the test captain Andrew Strauss. The first test between South Africa and England is going to start on Thursday at Oval. This remark of Flintoff right before the start of the first test has added a new flavor to the series.
