The Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss again and he had no hesitation in bowling first because of the due that was expected to come down in the evening. England didn’t have a good start and Ian Bell departed early. Ishant Sharma was the bowler who gave India the first breakthrough. Bell got out at the score of 10.

Pietersen came to bat at no. 3 and he along with Cook played sensibly and put up a good partnership. Neither of the two batsmen played risky shots. They just tried to play cricketing shots and rotated the strike well. Cook completed his half century in the meantime.

The England skipper was looking in great touch and he was negotiating the Indian bowlers with ease. But, Jadeja gave England the big blow by dismissing Cook at the score of 76. Cook was adjudged leg before wicket. However, the television replays later showed that the ball had pitched outside the leg stump and Cook was a bit unlucky to be given out.

Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma brought India out of trouble and added 68 runs for the fourth wicket. Rohit Sharma was given out leg before wicket at the score of 83. It seemed that the ball was going outside the leg stump, but, the umpire raised his finger and Rohit had to return to the pavilion.

MS Dhoni couldn’t play a big inning this time around. He was dismissed by Dernbach, but, that didn’t make any difference. Raina along with Jadeja saw India home. Raina remained unbeaten on 89 and was declared man of the match.
