The middle order batsman of the England Cricket team, Eoin Morgan, has said that his team shouldn’t take the Indian team lightly despite the poor performances of the Indians in recent times.

The Indian team is going through a very tough phase at the moment. At first, the Indian team lost the test series against England on its home soil after 28 years and then, the team lost the recently played ODI series against Pakistan.

The England team is currently in India to play a 5-match ODI series against the Indian team. Before the ODI series, the England team will play a couple of warm up matches. First of those warm up matches will be played on Sunday at the Palam A ground.

When Morgan was asked about the recent poor performances off the Indian team, he said, “Yes, the Indian team hasn’t been performing that well since the last couple of months, but, we shouldn’t forget that they have got some great players in their squad and they are capable of defeating any opposition in the world.”

“We shouldn’t take India lightly in the upcoming series. They will certainly bounce back hard. We need to be at our very best if we have to defeat them in the upcoming series.”

When asked about the weak bowling line up of the Indian team, Morgan said, “I wouldn’t say that their bowling line up is weak. They have got a very good spinner in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin. Ishant Sharma is also a world class bowler. So, they have got some bowling talent and it wouldn’t be easy for us to score runs fluently against them.

The first match of the ODI series will be played on 11th of January at Rajkot.
