Former England captain, Nasser Hussain, has said that Morne Morkel is using the same tactic against Andrew Strauss that Andrew Flintoff had used successfully against Adam Gilchrist in the Ashes series of 2005. In the Ashes series of 2005, Flintoff used to bowl round the wicket against Gilchrist and dismissed him quite a few times in that series. Similarly, Morne Morkel is creating problems for the English skipper by bowling round the wicket against him in the ongoing series.

In the first inning of the Oval test match, Morkel bowled a back of a length delivery to Strauss from round the wicket. Strauss should have shuffled across the wicket and should have flicked it through midwicket. But, he tried to play the ball from the crease and was trapped in front of the wicket. Strauss didn’t have a good record against Morkel. He has been dismissed by Morkel seven times in his career. As per Hussain, Strauss shouldn’t try to play Morkel from the crease. He should try to break Morkel’s rhythm by moving across the wicket.

Meanwhile, Nasser Hussain has praised the England players for their performances in the second test match. As per Hussain, the English bowlers bowled wonderfully in the second innings. Had the rain not interrupted so much, it would have been a very interesting test match. Hussain is pretty hopeful of England’s chances in the third test match. He said that the team is capable enough to beat South Africa in the third test match.

Hussain also praised Kevin Pietersen for his fantastic knock. As per Hussain, the way Pietersen counter attacked the South African bowlers, when they started bowling short deliveries to him, was wonderful to watch. He literally thrashed the South African attack. Hussain said that it would be very interesting to see the approach of South African bowlers against Pietersen in the third test match.
