MORGAN BACKS YOUNG GUNS

The stand-in captain of the England one day side, Eoin Morgan, has said that he has got full faith in his young players and he expects them to put up a better performance in the third ODI game against Australia tomorrow.

England is currently down by 0-1 in the series courtesy the huge defeat that they had suffered the other day at Old Trafford. One more defeat would make it impossible for the hosts to win the series.

In the Old Trafford game, England was completely outsmarted by the Kangaroos. The men in red struggled both with bat and ball and ended up being defeated by 80 odd runs.

MORGAN BACKS CARBERRY

The stand-in captain of the England ODI team, Eoin Morgan, has said that the Hampshire opening batsman Michael Carberry has got a lot of experience and he will bounce back from his poor debut match.

Carberry made his ODI debut for England by playing in the one off ODI against Ireland at Malahide. It proved to be a terrible day for the 32 years left handed batsman. He struggled in the field and dropped a couple of important catches. Then, when he was called upon to roll his arm over, he gave away 12 runs in his very first over and Morgan decided not to give him any more overs.

AVOID THE FOLLOW ON

The star batsman of the England cricket team, Kevin Pietersen, has said that avoiding follow on is very important for his team on the fourth day of the third Ashes test match which is being played at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Replying to Australia’s 527, the score of England at the end of the third day’s play was 294 for the loss of 7 wickets. To avoid follow on, they still need 34 more runs.
The English team could have been in a worse position if Pietersen had not played a fantastic knock on the third day.

GILES BACKS BELL

The coach of the England ODI side, Ashley Giles, has made it clear that Ian Bell will be the opening partner of Alastair Cook in the upcoming Champions Trophy.

Bell has been Cook’s opening partner in the ODIs since quite a while now. He was given this role when Kevin Pietersen was out of the team last year and even after Pietersen’s return, he is carrying on that role.

PANESAR GETS CALL

Monty Panesar has been included in the playing XI of the England team for the first test match against New Zealand.
Panesar was not expected to play any test match on this tour of New Zealand. The conditions in New Zealand are suitable for the seam bowlers.

So, the England team was expected to go with three fast bowlers and one spinner in all the three test matches of the series. And, that one spinner was going to be Graeme Swann. So, Panesar was expected to sit on the bench in all the three test matches.

MORGAN BACKS ENGLAND

The middle order batsman of the England Cricket team, Eoin Morgan, has said that his team shouldn’t take the Indian team lightly despite the poor performances of the Indians in recent times.

The Indian team is going through a very tough phase at the moment. At first, the Indian team lost the test series against England on its home soil after 28 years and then, the team lost the recently played ODI series against Pakistan.
